Actively supporting our people in the delivery of quality patient care has been the basis for developing our healthcare processes for three decades. We have found that the best way to accomplish this goal is to provide caregivers with well-designed support systems that provide a clear framework for the delivery of consistent, quality care.
We invite you to take a closer look at the following proven systems PHS has put into place over the past 30 years.

 Core Competencies

Evidence-based Medicine
Established policies, procedures and protocols, founded on evidence-based medicine, are written to comply with national correctional health care standards.

Accreditation
An impressive accreditation record attests to our
experience and expertise in helping facilities obtain and maintain accreditation by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) and the American Correctional Association (ACA), as well as state and local accrediting agencies.

Continuous Quality Improvement
The PHS Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program works to improve services for our patients, health care staff, correctional colleagues and the community at large by expanding and disseminating research-based knowledge relating to patient safety and clinical systems.

Utilization Management
Our Utilization Management Program monitors the use of outside services to make certain that off-site referrals (including subspecialty and inpatient stays) are being utilized in an appropriate and responsible manner.

Formulary Management
Ongoing formulary management helps facilities control medication expenditures while ensuring that patients receive a safe and effective means of treatment.
